Alberto Contador has reached an agreement with Trek to continue linked to the American bicycle brand as international ambassador, a project that is especially satisfying, given that he achieved his first Tour de France at the controls of a Trek bike, with which he also got his first Giro d’Italia and his first Vuelta a España, to retire after one last victory in the legendary Angliru, also pedaling on a Trek.

The first appearance as international ambassador of Trek took place in Portugal on the occasion of the Granfondo Douro, held on May 6, where he was accompanied, among others, by Óscar Pereiro, also in the work of ambassador of the American brand.

From this moment on, Alberto Contador will be the image of Trek in various events, still to be defined, while in the day to day he will exercise as a special tester of the new Trek products, to whom he will offer his feedback as an expert.

“Being linked to Trek makes me especially excited, because it has been an important part of my career. With these bikes I got my first big triumphs in Paris-Nice and in the Tour de France 2007 and with a Trek bike I took my farewell to my career in the last stage of the Vuelta España 2017 in Madrid and also with it I got my last victory in the Angliru”, explains Alberto Contador.

“Now that I am no longer an active cyclist, I enjoy my bike even more than before, because I can go out pedaling without the pressure of competition and feel really comfortable about the entire range of Trek bikes. And last but not least, we are also using Trek bikes in the Polartec-Kometa team, which perfectly complements our work and allows us to follow the evolution of all innovations in full competition”, concludes the winner of the Big Three.
