IMG_4489Next day May 29 will be held the VI Gran Fondo Alberto Contador, this time moved to Cuenca and its mountainous area, where is planned a demanding course of 196 kilometers with start and finish in the Hermanos Becerril Street. Another year, Alberto Contador will carry the race number one among those registered.

The bike ride will start at 8:30 am on Sunday, May 29, to traverse the historic downtown of Cuenca, passing by cities like Villalba de la Sierra, Las Majadas, Masegosa and Tragacete, to build a positive slope of 2,666 meters, a not negligible amount for a ride of this nature.

Registrations to participate in the Alberto Contador Gran Fondo are open from today on the website of the event, and this year the share of each participant will be between 25 and 45 euros, depending on who owns a cyclist license and purchase or not the commemorative jersey of the race.

As is customary for the usual of the Alberto Contador GRan Fondo after the race participants will be offered a paella and a raffle of numerous gifts linked to cycling and provided by the various sponsors of the race, led by RH+ brand, also sponsor of Alberto Contador Foundation Cycling Teams and the City and County of Cuenca, plus the Castilla-La Mancha Government.

The city of Cuenca, after a warmly proposal supported by its institutions, has taken the baton this year to the city of Plasencia, which was the place that hosted the 2015 Alberto Contador GRan Fondo, after a year before opened its itinerant character Cantabria. The first three editions of this gran fondo were held in Pinto (Madrid), birthplace of Alberto Contador.
